Fair and sustainable lithium production in Bolivia
As an innovative company that pursues the concept of sustainability, we are advancing the industrialization of lithium production in Bolivia.
ACI Systems Alemania
ACI Systems Alemania (ACISA) specializes in advanced, eco-friendly lithium mining technologies. In Bolivia, ACISA is committed to environmentally responsible lithium extraction, supporting the nation's sustainable energy goals. This work not only powers the global shift to electric vehicles but also fuels the development of nuclear fusion, a revolutionary clean energy source, positioning Bolivia as a key player in the future of sustainable energy.

What ACISA delivers
From the brine of Nor Lípez to finished battery material, ACISA covers the whole chain: plant design and construction, process technology, energy, training and marketing. The engineering is costed and independently verified.
Planning and constructing the production plants
A 10,000 t/y pilot plant built in year one and commercial from year three, followed by the main plant reaching 80,000 t/y of battery-grade lithium carbonate (>99.5 %) from year six. Total project cost US$3,465 million, with the sponsor funding 100 % of the equity.
Process technology without evaporation ponds
Route C removes the magnesium using the brine’s own chemistry. Mechanical evaporation and controlled crystallisation replace the evaporation ponds entirely, in a system that makes the plant a net producer of water instead of a consumer of it.
Energy and water self-sufficiency
An off-grid photovoltaic field with battery storage, and a solar-thermal field with molten-salt storage for process heat. No diesel, no gas, no grid connection — and no fresh water drawn from the territory.
Transferring know-how
Sharing know-how is part of a fair partnership. We sponsor talented young Bolivians to study at the University of Freiberg in Germany, and a departmental training fund prepares Potosinos to fill the 702 permanent jobs the plant creates.
Industrialisation along the value chain
With our partners we cover the chain from lithium carbonate through cathode materials to manufacturing equipment for battery systems. Finished product made in Bolivia — not exported as raw brine.
Participation and marketing
The structure allows various forms of cooperation with investors, with the Bolivian State holding 51 % without contributing cash. The mixed enterprise YLB-ACISA E.M. holds contractual access to the brine of the lithium-rich zone of the Salar de Uyuni and is responsible for the sale and marketing of the carbonate produced.

Fair and sustainable raw material supply
We are committed to the environmentally-friendly extraction of the key raw material lithium and a fair partnership with Bolivia. Bolivia has a 51 % stake in the joint venture YLB ACISA E.M. This enables Bolivia to benefit directly from the company's success. Through industrialization along the value chain, the advantages for Bolivia go beyond the sale of the raw material.
